TMHA PUBLIC HOUSING PROPERTIES:

  • Security deposits are $ 50.00 or 1 month’s rent, whichever is higher.

TMHA Developments Designed for Families:

Anyone applying for Public Housing, may choose up to 3 waiting lists with one application. All other programs other than TMHA Public Housing will require a separate application for each waiting list. The Housing Choice Voucher Program also requires a separate application.

  • Please read the description for each waiting list carefully. TMHA will check previous landlords, obtain criminal backgrounds and send information to all utility companies for residents living in developments that must pay for utilities. Face to face interviews must be conducted prior to final approval being given for housing.

 

TRUMBULL HOMES WAITING LIST:

INCLUDES FAIRVIEW GARDENS, TRUMBULL HOMES AND SINGLE FAMILY HOMES ON WICK STREET S.E.

This waiting list consists of one, two, three, four and five bedroom apartments located on the southeast side of Warren and adjacent to the new Willard School. Some of the units are built on a single floor plan for easier access for persons with disabilities. Rent is based on income.

Residents must have the ability to obtain gas, water and electric in their name to qualify in addition passing all other screening criteria. Rent is based on income. Residents may qualify for participation in family-self sufficiency programs. (FSS)

 

HIGHLAND TERRACE WAITING LIST:

INCLUDES THE DEVELOPMENTS OF HIGHLAND TERRACE, LANCER COURT, REO COURT AND SINGLE FAMILY HOMES ON MARYLAND AND CLEARWATER STREETS.

This waiting list consists of two, three, four and five bedroom apartments located primarily on the west side of Warren. Apartments and homes in this waiting list represent the newest and most efficient apartments in our portfolio. Highland Terrace was completely remodeled in 2000, Lancer Court and Reo Court completed an extensive and complete rehab in 2011. This waiting list offers the most diverse choices for school systems of any public housing waiting list including multiple schools in Warren and Bazetta School Districts for residents of Reo Court. A number of the units at Lancer have basements for extra storage.

Residents at these sites must have the ability to get gas, water and electric in their name to qualify, in addition to passing all other screening criteria. Rent is based on income. Residents may qualify for participation in FSS programs.

 

RIO TERRA WAITING LIST:

The Rio Terra development is located just outside the northwest side of Warren and has a nice mix of two and three bedroom apartments. Children living in this development attend schools in the LaBrae School District.

Residents at this site must have the ability to obtain gas, water and electric in their name to qualify, in addition to passing all other screening criteria. Rent is based on income. Residents may qualify for participation in FSS programs.

 

GIRARD SCATTERED WAITING LIST: 

Girard Scattered Sites consists of 14 duplexes located in the Trumbull Hill area of the city and consists of two, three and five bedroom apartments with basements.

Residents at this site must have the ability to obtain gas, water and electric in their name to qualify, in addition to passing all other screening criteria. Rent is based on income. Residents may qualify for participation in FSS programs.

 

HILLTOP GARDENS:

Hilltop Gardens is a 50 apartment development consisting of two and three bedroom apartments. It is conveniently located near downtown Sharon’s business district and is just minutes from two Grocery stores. Children in this development attend Brookfield Schools.

Residents at this site must have the ability to obtain gas and electric in their name to qualify, in addition to passing all other screening criteria. Rent is based on income. Residents may qualify for participation in FSS programs.

RIVERVIEW APARTMENTS:

Riverview Apartments is a traditional high-rise development located near downtown Warren and offers a large number of studio and one bedroom apartments as well as a few two and three bedroom apartments for elderly and persons with disabilities.  Applicants age 50 – 61 may also apply, however, preference will be given to elderly and disabled applicants unless the waiting lists is not large enough to support full occupancy.

Residents at this site must have the ability to obtain electric in their name to qualify, in addition to passing all other screening criteria. Rent is based on income. Residents may qualify for participation in FSS programs. All units are accessible by elevators.

EASTVIEW APARTMENTS:

Eastview Apartments is a three story development conveniently located near the Eastwood Mall Complex. The site consists of 52 one bedroom apartments and is designed to house elderly and persons with disabilities. Applicants age 50 – 61 may also apply, however, preference will be given to elderly and disabled applicants unless the waiting list is not large enough to support full occupancy.

Rent is based on income. Residents may qualify for participation in FSS programs. All units are accessible by elevators. Utilities are included in the cost of rent. A portion of the development is accessible by elevator.

HUBBARD MANOR:

Hubbard Manor is a five story high-rise located near the heart of downtown Hubbard. It underwent an extensive modernization in 2011 and offers the latest appliances and accessible features for the elderly and persons with disabilities. Applicants age

50 – 61 may also apply, however, preference will be given to elderly and disabled applicants unless the waiting list is not large enough to support full occupancy.

Rent is based on income. Residents may qualify for participation in FSS programs. All units are accessible by elevators. Utilities are included in the cost of rent. The entire development is accessible by elevator.

VALLEY WEST:

Located on Brookfield Avenue in Masury, Valley West is also conveniently located within minutes of downtown Sharon, grocery stores, banks and medical facilities. There are 50 apartments in this 3 story building designed for elderly and persons with disabilities.

Applicants age 50 – 61 may also apply, however, preference will be given to elderly and disabled applicants unless the waiting list is not large enough to support full occupancy.

Rent is based on income. Residents may qualify for participation in FSS programs. All units are accessible by elevators. Utilities are included in the cost of rent.

MCKINLEY TOWERS:

McKinley Towers is located off Robbins Avenue in Niles and has 105 one bedroom apartments. There are 14 completely accessible apartments in the building which is designed for occupancy by elderly and persons with disabilities. Applicants age

50 – 61 may also apply, however, preference will be given to elderly and disabled applicants unless the waiting list is not large enough to support full occupancy

Rent is based on income. Residents may qualify for participation in FSS programs. All units are accessible by elevators. Utilities are included in the cost of rent.

NORTHVIEW:

Northview is located one block east of St. Rt. 422 in the heart of Girard. It is conveniently located near grocery stores, drugstores and restaurants. The development is the home to 80 apartments designed for occupancy by elderly and persons with disabilities. Applicants age 50 – 61 may also apply, however, preference will be given to elderly and disabled applicants unless the waiting list is not large enough to support full occupancy

Rent is based on income. Residents may qualify for participation in FSS programs. All units are accessible by elevators. Utilities are included in the cost of rent.

SECTION 8 PROJECT- BASED APARTMENTS OWNED AND OPERATED BY WARREN HOUSING DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (WHDC):

Security deposits at all WHDC sites are equal to TOTAL TENANT PAYMENT as calculated by WHDC Staff. Circumstances and incomes vary from applicant to applicant, therefore, no two rents will be alike.

KENMORE APARTMENTS: Designed for Families

Kenmore Apartments is conveniently located behind the Warren Plaza on Elm Road in Warren. The development consists of 24 two bedroom apartments. Living room and bedrooms are carpeted. Appliances are furnished.

Rent is based on income. Tenants living in this development must have the ability to get electric service in their name as well as pass other criteria established by Warren Housing Development Corporation.

Children living in the development attend Howland Schools. The Plaza has a grocery store, bank, restaurants as well as many other amenities within walking distance of the apartment. Pets are not permitted on the premises.

FOREST RIDGE APARTMENTS: Designed for Families

Forest Ridge Apartments is a 50 unit development located just of St. Rt. 46 in Mineral Ridge and offers a mix of two, three and four bedroom apartments. Each apartment is equipped with washer and dryer hook-ups and carpeting. Tenants on this waiting list must have the ability to obtain electric service in their name as well as passing all other screening criteria established by WHDC.

The site is located within a short driving distance of the Eastwood Mall and Austintown Plaza areas.

Rent is based on income. Pets are not permitted on the property.

PETS ARE NOT PERMITTED AT KENMORE AND FOREST RIDGE.

 

THE ELMS: Applicants Restricted to Elderly (62 +) and Persons with Disabilities**

The Elms is a 200 apartment high rise located directly behind the Warren Plaza on Elm Road in Warren. Applicants choosing to live at The Elms have the luxury grocery stores, banks, drugstores, hairdressers and restaurants within walking distance of the building.

All units, except those located on the first floor, have balconies.

Rent is based on income. All units are accessible by elevators. Utilities are included in the cost of rent. Coin operated laundry and community room located on-site. Additional charges may apply for excess electric usage for air conditioners and freezers.

HEATON HOUSE: Applicants Restricted to Elderly (62 +) and Persons with Disabilities**

Heaton House is a 50 apartment mid-rise located on North Road in Niles near the Eastwood Mall Complex. The apartments are designed to house elderly and persons with disabilities.

Rent is based on income. All units are accessible by elevators. Utilities are included in the cost of rent. Coin operated laundry and community room located on-site. Additional charges may apply for excess electric usage for air conditioners and freezers.

WEST PARK MANOR: Applicants Restricted to Elderly (62 +) and Persons with Disabilities**

West Park Manor is a 50 apartment mid-rise located near the heart of downtown Hubbard. The apartments are designed to house elderly and persons with disabilities.

Rent is based on income. All units are accessible by elevators. Utilities are included in the cost of rent. Coin operated laundry and community room located on-site. Additional charges may apply for excess electric usage for air conditioners and freezers.

An additional pet deposit of $ 300.00 is required for any household wishing to have a pet at THE ELMS, WEST PARK MANOR or HEATON HOUSE. Veterinarian records must be provided prior the pet being brought onto the property. A $ 50.00 deposit is required before the pet is permitted on the property. Tenants are permitted to make monthly payments until the entire deposit is paid in full. A minimum payment of $ 10.00 per month is required.

GIRARD MANOR INC.

 Subsidized Housing for Persons 62 and Better

 

GIRARD MANOR:

Newly constructed and opened in May, 2010, Girard Manor is located two blocks east of St. Rt. 422 in the heart of Girard. Girard Manor consists of 40 large and spacious one bedroom apartments with fully equipped kitchens and barrier free floor plans. Each apartment is individually heated and cooled for the tenant’s enjoyment. Laundry service is available on the first floor as well as a spacious community room, Media Room with Wii Fitness, community library and wireless internet service. The site also has a covered patio at the rear of the building and an exterior balcony on the 3rd floor for residents to enjoy.

Security deposit is equal to the tenant’s monthly portion of the rent. Rent is based on income and all utilities included. Pets are permitted on the premises with an additional security deposit of $ 300.00. A deposit of $50.00 and veterinary records are required prior to the pet coming onto the premises. Size, weight and breed restrictions may apply. A minimum payment of $ 10.00 per month is required.
